This tutorial was created on February 3, 2003 and is of my own doing, any likeliness to other tutorials on the Internet is purely coincidental.
This tutorial was created using PSP 7.04, and assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP.
The tutorial may work with previous editions with a few adjustments, but I cannot guarantee the same results.
My tutorials are only basic guidelines to help you achieve a certain effect, please feel free to any creative liberties to achieve your effects.
All selection files are copyrighted by me and should not be posted or offered for download in any other medium other than here.
You will need:
JASC's PSP (30 day free trial)- HERE

Step 1:
Open a new 500 x 500 transparent image. Set your foreground to red, I used #C00000 and your background to white, lock is Checked.
The reason for lock checked is so that when we switch between the tools, you don't lose the colors selected.
Step 2:
Add a new Raster Layer and name this heart1. Go to Selections/Load From Disk and load the jf~heart1.sel file.
Clicking on your floodfill tool, left click to fill with red. Do NOT deselect.
Step 3:
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel with the following settings:
Bevel = 1/4 pie shape; Width = 6; Smoothness = 100; Depth = 6; Ambience = 7; Shininess = 10; Color = White; Angle = 315; Intensity = 67; Elevation = 21.
Selections/Select None.
Step 4:
Add a new Raster Layer and name this arrowtop. Selections/Load from disk and load the jf~arrowtop. Right click to floodfill with white. Do NOT deselect.
Step 5:
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel with the following settings:
Bevel = 1/4 pie shape; Width = 5, Smoothness = 40; Depth = 2; Ambience = 0; Shininess = 10; Color = White; Angle = 315; Intensity = 67, Elevation = 21.
Selections/Select None.
Step 6:
Add new Raster Layer naming this arrow bottom. Selections/Load from disk and load the jf~arrowbottom. Right click to floodfill with white. Do NOT Deselect.
Step 7:
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel leaving all settings the same EXCEPT your Angle. Change this to 157. Selections/Select None.
Step 8:
Add a new Raster Layer naming this heart2. Selections/Load from Disk and load the jf~heart2.sel file. Left click to flood fill with red. Do NOT Deselect. Apply the inner bevel that was used in Step 3. Selections/Select None.
Step 9:
Add a new Raster Layer naming this banner. Selections/Load from Disk and load the jf~banner.sel file. Right click to floodfill with white. Do NOT Deselect.
Step 10:
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and use the settings that were used in step 5 for the arrowtop. Selections/Select None
Step 11:
Add a new Raster Layer naming this deco (short for decorations). Selections/Load from Disk and load the jf~heart3.sel. Right click to flood fill with white. Do NOT Deselect.
Step 12:
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Innerbevel and click ok. Your settings should be the ones that were used for the arrowtop. Do NOT Deselect.
Step 13:
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow with the following settings:
Vertical and Horizontal = 2; Opacity = 65; Blur = 4.9.
Selections/Select None
Step 14:
On the same layer, load the jf~heart4.sel file, right click to flood fill with white, repeat Steps 5 & 13.
Step 15:
On the same layer, load the jf~heart5.sel file, right click to flood fill with white, repeat Steps 5 & 13.
Step 16:
Add a new Raster Layer naming this text. Selections/Load from Disk and load the jf~text.sel file. Left click to flood fill with red.
Step 17:
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Innerbevel and apply the Frame Preset. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the Drop Shadow in Step 13. Selections/Select None.
Step 18:
At this point you can dress it up with tubes if you wish. After all it is your creation. :)))
Step 19:
For group postings, hide Layer 1, make Layer 2 the active layer, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Add a background of your choice to Layer 1. Layers/Merge/Merge All(Flatten); Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen and resize for group requirements.
