ZigZaggle Frame

This tutorial was created on April 25, 2002 and is of my own doing. Any likeness to other tutorials is purely coincidental.

Some of the techniques used in this tutorial are not of my own, but have been learned through PSP Dynasty and the wonderful tutorial writers of this group.

You will need:
JASC's PSP (30 day free trial)- You can get it HERE
Funhouse 1 and 2 Filter. You can get it HERE
Moon Design Gold Gradient- You can get it HERE

Graphic of your choice

Step 1:
Open the graphic of your choice, duplicate by selecting the Shift plus D key and close your original original graphic.

Step 2:
Resize your image to 350 Width on Longest side. Then go to Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen

Step 3:
Duplicate your image and minimize for now. We're going to need this later.

Step 4:
On your first copy of the image, go to Effects/Plugin Filters/Funhouse and choose the ZigZaggerate with the following settings:
Zigs (X) = 106, Zags (Y) = 60.

Step 5:
Go to Layers, Promote to Layer.

Step 6:
Go to Selections/Select All. Then go back to Selections/Modify/Contract and contract by 30 pixels. Hit your delete key once.

Step 7:
Go to Selections/Invert. Then go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel with the following settings:
Width = 10, Smoothness = 20, Depth = 5, Ambience = 0, Shininess = 0, Color = White, Intensity = 50, Elevation = 30
Do Not Deselect.

Step 8:
Go to Selections/Invert. Then Layers/Add New Raster Layer. Do not deselect.

Step 9:
Go to Selections/Modify/Contract and contract by 10 pixels. Go to Selections/Invert. Do not deselect.

Step 10:
On your foreground box, select the gradient, and choose a gradient of your choice. For this tutorial I used MD-Gold. With the following settings:
Angle = 90
Repeats = 0
Invert Gradient - Unchecked

Step 11:
Flood Fill new layer with your gradient. Go to Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom. Go To Selections/Select None.

Step 12:
Using your magic wand with the following settings: Matchmode: RGB Value, Tolerance = 0, Feather = 0, Sample Merge-Unchecked.
Select the center of the image. Go to Layers and add a new Raster Layer.

Step 13:
Activate your minimized graphic, go to Edit/Copy, then back to the first image, go to Edit/Paste/Paste into Selection. Do not deselect.

Step 14:
Go to Selections/Float. Then go to Effects/3D Effects/Cutout and use the following settings: Vertical and Horizontal = 2, Opacity = 65, Blur = 15.5, Shadow color = Black
Reapply cutout changing the Vertical and Horizontal to a minus 2.
Selections/Select none

Step 15:
Go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (Flatten).

Step 16:
Make your background a light gray and go to Image/Add Borders and add a Symmetrical 10 border.

Step 17:
Select border with your magic wand and flood fill with your gradient. Do not deselect.

Step 18:
Go to Selections/Invert. The to Effects/3D Effects/Cutout and apply twice using the same settings as before.
Selections/Select None

Step 18:
Resize for group requirements. Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen.
